Here is what Joshua Haun had to say about GreenGeeks and the overall experience with their Virtual Private Servers hosting service.

I registered at GreenGeeks back in May last year when I saw an offer on the WebHostingTalk forums. Since the price was already well within my budget, it worked out pretty well. My account was setup within an hour, and I was able to get cPanel installed within a few minutes as they had one of those 'ready to use' cPanel templates. I didnt really start using the VPS much for the first month or so as I was still moving customers off an old VPS I had. Once I moved everyone over I found it was a heck of a lot faster than the old one...not just network wise, but my CPU usage was lower. Looking at the processor info, it was a 2xQuad Core xeon machine (cant remember the exact processor). Recently I was upgraded to an i7 server which has been really great so far.

My account was setup within an hour. I have access to a control panel that lets me do all the usual start/stop/reboot, etc plus they just added a console to let me access the vps even if my ssh goes down or I get locked out.

My VPS has been great. The only outage we had was a few months ago, and it was due to a datacenter wide outage in the Dallas building. This lasted approx 1 hour. The vps is always fast, and has a low CPU and disk I/O.

The price of my GreenGeeks VPS was pretty great. I use one of their 'cloud VPS' accounts with cPanel and Installatron added on. The price is almost half of my old provider, and whilst its advertised as unmanaged, I've had GreenGeeks do some work on my VPS which they offered to do for free.. I guess they dont offer 'full' management but are willing to help out a bit.

In closing, I think I'll be with GreenGeeks for the foreseeable future. They met my needs and are way better than my last host. I've found support to be helpful and fast, prices to be decent (not stupidly low, realistic) and the uptime to be great. I would recommend them as a host.

I've only had to contact customer support one or twice (admittedly, its usually because I break something!) and have had nothing but friendly responses. I think the longest I've waited for a ticket reply is no more than an hour and a half.
