Name servers are used to track the domain names of users inside the network. Generally every IP address is associated with a domain name in the network. This domain name is the name under which the site will be normally registered. The names help the users to keep in memory the servers as different from the IP address which are difficult to memorize.
Custom name servers are generally used to customize the names as the term suggests. This can be used to display the name of the domain in a different appearance quite different from the usual format. When the domain names are tried to track using “who is” the custom names are generally displayed to the user.
When the IP address is used to get the custom name, the reverse look up will provide the user with that information. Custom name suitably replaces the domain names in all registrations. The IP address is generally administrated by the users. So when the IP address look up is used, the information delivered will be the name of the user.
The custom name servers can be modified as required by the users, provided all the registration formalities are completed with the domain. The update can be performed only on an active domain. At the time of generating a custom name server it is advisable to create two name servers. These can be kept as the primary and secondary name servers for that domain.
IP address is the unique location address for any server. So when keeping a custom name for your server, it should be noticed that, the IP address for that domain is unique. And the primary and secondary names are to be given to two separate servers which are physically different also.
When you are customizing the name servers, it will be better if you try to keep the customization as much as unique as possible. The custom names can be used to reflect the name of the user. This will help to keep the custom name stand uniquely for the domain and the users will feel free to use it.
