An operator will be with you shortly. info: You are now chatting with 'Nick E' you: hi nick you: Nick you: are you guys facing problems you: cause my vps is not responding to anything Nick E: Yes we are you: the sonar service Monitoring shows that all the services are not responding Nick E: A subset of customers were affected by an apparent power surge which took a UPS system offline and tripped the breaker protecting that system. Power has been restored to those affected. We are working to completely restore all services. Our apologies for any inconvenience. Nick E: Our own DNS servers were affected as well as a few routers/switches. you: well when do u expect a fix for that problem ? Nick E: A UPS system quite literally started on fire, which killed power to an entire datacenter. The maintenance team is replacing equipment as fast as possible and netowrking is bringing things back online. Nick E: I cannot give a realistic time estimate at this moment, aside from "as soon as possible". Nick E: Initial estimates have already been exceeded so I am hesitant to make a claim only to have it not happen. you: well I just need to know roughly time interval Nick E: I can tell you 30-45 minutes...personally, I am not making any promises because I've been saying that for at least that amount of time. you: so it will be fixed by 2 hours lets say ?? you: well lets hope it will Nick E: I would be more confident with that estimate, yes Nick E: At least then, if it is sooner, that is just a bonus you: anyways thanks for ur help you: do i need to submit a ticket you: or would the service be back online ?? alex: that isn't typical, however our support team can assist you with the cause. As for solution, if you are interested in a dedicated server they are known to be more reliable.
alex: with VPS, you're utilizing resources that are shared
alex: also, when maintenance is required, you wouldn't have any say with a VPS.
Tariq Atari: so does this justify my loss ?
Tariq Atari: I mean I have live services and clients ?

Tariq Atari: what am I to say to those people ?
alex: I would not advise a VPS if uptime is a high priority.
alex: Storm on Demand is better, but ultimately it sounds like a dedicated server is what would serve you best
Tariq Atari: well if i was considering a dedicated server i would diffently not take it from liquid web :) anyways thanks for your time. and please can u send me a msg when the issue with my parent server is solved?
