Here is what Scott had to say about 1and1 and the overall experience with their Virtual Private Servers hosting service.

Horrible company. I am on the phone with them every week because our site is down or slow. All they say is "we think it is a hardware node issue". Do not waste your time with this company. Their support company is in Philadelphia and the servers are in Kansas. If there is any problem they say they can't speak with their techs.

I learned my lesson with going with a cheap host. I literally mean cheap.

They don't have a service level agreement either so it's difficult to try and get a refund. Bottom line is don't use this company.
