First thought was WOW! I know nothing about server management and I have a lot of potentials suddenly available. They have everything laid out and ready to go. It's nice to know that telephone, chat, forum and email support are available. I like flexibility.

Account Setup Feedback

Fantastico PHP did a number on my server and it took about a week to get the server reset to defaults. Troubleshooting is always stressful whn you have clients waiting. In the end, the efficient reset was much appreciated. It would be useful if server hosts used a backup rack to sort out problems while leaving server owners free to move ahead with hosting. Well now I know my experience is indipensible.

Host Reliability

Not experienced enough to say. I think VPS is new technology.

Pricing Info

I have two exceptions to normal pricing:
1. I am disabled and thus unemployed;
2. I only do webs for non-profit organizations.
Hostican gave me the discount I asked for.

Final Host Comments

VPS is an amazing development that one day soon will kick shared hosting into the grave. This extra-regional service transiotion will probably parellel market for affordable solid state drive technology.

I take 1 off for a silly voice mail that always says, "Good afternoon...". Maybe they're on a satellite that's always watching the sun go down. Cool. Otherwise, the support in itself is interesting. You never know who you will connect with on tel or online. And they work together dynamically as a team, so answers to questions very seldom feel shallow. When they do, well that's a flag that you should know better!
